In this video, a speaker spoke of the injustice that happens everyday and how we sit on the side lines and watch how innocent people are sentenced to death for a crime they never commited. The man in the video explained that there is no justice in this country anymore. Much like the economy, the rich get richer and the poor stay poor. This concept applies to the justice system due to the fact that if your a rich wealthy man you will face little to no punishment and if your a rich white person they will slap your wrists and send you out of the court house with a lollypop for just showing up to the court house. The man in the video also explained how we are triing kids as a adults so that they can face a harsher punishment. The sad part of this truth is a majority of the kids being tried as adults are black. Society today targets race and although the slave age is over, the black community is still slaved to the title of "criminal" and after 9/11, the Muslum population has surely joined the rankings with the black community. It's sad how the most peaceful religion in the world is being targeted as terrorists due to people who dont even know what they stand for. Our nation is lost in the masses and forgets that we are all people living in this beautiful nation and if the public watched the news, they would realize that it is near impossible to get into this nation. Everyone worked hard to live here including the muslum population, the least we can do is see them as equals.
DAILY SHOW
While watching the video I agreed with the guest on the show that our history is being white washed and the public is afraid to reveal that in the past that we treated the black community horribly by forcing them to be slaves. The "N" word is a term that has brought down that black community for years and to remove it from a book, although it is a bad word to the public eye, shouldn't be removed. I agree with the guest because its not the word that is truly bad, its the context of how its used. The book it is presented in is one of the greatest pieces of literature published. Mark Twain used the word to put in the minds of the public that they shouldn't judge by the contents of their skin but by the fact that they are humans just like us and deserve recognition. It's written in our constitution and always will be there because it is our history. The reason why we study history is so that we prevent the bad from happening again. It was a dark era in our history but it was 300 years ago and we as a nation now are stronger and are more accepting.
MEN FAIL
In the article “Why Men Fail,” it examines why men today aren’t as successful as woman are when it comes to business, the economy and as well as why men don’t succeed in life. This author has good ethos due to the fact that she has written a book and also has her work published in a popular magazine. With her cleaver insight on the matters at hand in regards to women being far more superior in the business community, she proclaims that men fail at being successful because they believe that they have everything handed to them which lowers work ethic which in the end results in the men not progressing as fast as the hard working woman that has devoted time and effort in the office to reach a higher more powerful point in their career which in the long run ends with the men stuck behind a desk while woman live it up with their high paying jobs. I agree with the point that men are getting lazy in the work community and should rise up because even though I want to say that everything is equal in the working community, in the end women always have to work harder to achieve more than what men have handed to them on a platter. One point I do disagree on is that we all do work hard together as a team and that in the end boosts moral and ultimately ends with everyone winning. Men and women are equal human beings but when it comes to todays society, women must work in order to achieve greatness much like us all.
DEBATE
While watching the debates, I believe that the true winner is Obama. Although I am Democratic, I believe that Obama won because he reached out to current problems and what he’s done to help and disproved the Ads that are against him as well as brought up points about how Romney cant keep his word and forced Romney to go against his word that stated his 5 trillion tax break that would cost the US a lot of money. Obama used many words that much like Romney stuck in the audience’s head such as lying and tax raising. No matter the intelligence level of any of the US citizen, if there is one word that sticks in the minds of the public it’s the powerful word tax. Romney lost this debate not only with his rude interruptions but also the fact that when faced with a statement that regards his current campaign Ads he reacted with denial and frustration. I believe that if a person cant stay true to their word then they aren’t a man and they aren’t good to run this country. The president should be a man of truth and should be respectful because he is representing the most powerful nation in the world. Romney lost because for the past 7 months, Romney has been campaigning that he is going to be giving tax breaks to the rich and raising taxes on middle class to make them pay $4000. Romney also was quoted with his policy on china and quote said that they are “Cheaters” and blamed Obama for the current crisis. The US is giving China all our business and as well as the President has no control over where business send their jobs. Although both Candidates had contradicting ideas, they both agreed on one point that would help the US. The US needs lower the corporate tax rate to 25% or even lower and allow the businesses over seas to come either back to the US or allow foreign countries to come to the US.
ANGRY MUSLIM
To start, the Muslim religion is a very peaceful religion. People make mistakes and accuse them for being terrorists and killers, but in fact it’s the opposite. The Muslims believe in Jihad, which if everyone is familiar with it through popular media, that it means holy war. People believe that Jihad is fought physically with weapons and death and killing, but in fact the real meaning behind Jihad is in fact holy war but it is a holy war within yourself. Jihad is fighting them self through urges and lifelong battles that make us human. When I hear bad opinions on the Muslims I feel that they are being attacked due to the extremists that give them a bad name. Every group of people has their bad seed and unfortunetly for society all we focus on is the bad people just so we can gather an audience and the media can become popular and outreach to other branches of society. The picture of the Muslims being upset and yelling, I believe that at that moment the people were upset and due to the selfish acts of the media with no reasoning just state the negative that the Muslims are upset a video. I believe that the media should have stated in the article why the people were upset and not write it in an over exaggerated way. I understand the American people don’t understand what the Muslims think or feel, but if the media would stop shoveling lies down our throats, that maybe we could learn something about another group of people that we share this world with. The Americans are not superior and the sooner we realize this, the sooner we can start focusing on what really matters which is doing our job as a great nation to help other nations reach peach within their borders.

OBAMA AD
While watcfing the Ad for Obama, I first noticed the background color and how it was a welcoming fuzz to the pictures and people they presented. I also noticed that the people that were shown the most were teen's and old people. I believe he did that so it would match up with the story that Obama told in one of his speeches when he talked about his grandma working hard. Other details that caught my attention were the emotion put into every word so that while you watch the Ad, your blood will get pumped up and say "Yes we can!" that the people can go forward and make things better. The message that was in this Ad was to get people to get "Fired Up, Ready to go" about this new election and that if Obama is reelected, than everything will be better because he believes in the peoples dream and he believes in the people to make the right choice. The main goal of this Ad was to show people that they need to vote cause one vote can change the world and make a difference.
CHAPTER 6
In Joe Hardin's "Choices 2.0" he states that commercial companies are using Rhetoric values in their commercials to gain appeal from certain crowds that they aim for their products. For example, Hardin brought up how the Marlboro company use visuals to make smoking appear cool to the younger crowd of the time when they were allowed to show commercials like that. The reason for the article was to reveal to the audience how advertisers use rhetorical visuals to help attract audiences. The "Marlboro Cowboy" was meant to represent the masculenity and as well as all the rugged men smoke and if you wanna be a big strong man, dont eat vegtibles, smoke Marlboro.
PLAGIARISM IS THE END OF CREATIVITY
Trip Gabriel in His Informative writing on Plagiarism called “Plagiarism Lines Blur for Students in Digital Age”(8/1/2010) argues since the beginning of the online era and the vast amount of information at the hands of the public, Plagiarism is becoming more popular in undergraduates and the colleges are letting it slide by. Trip explains that in a survey given by the Rutgers University, 40% of 14,000 undergraduates, admitted to plagiarizing at least once in their academic career. Due this intense amount of numbers given by the survey the Education committee decided to crack down on this progressively growing problem and in a later study revealed that after the disciplinary action given by the University, the percentage dropped from an average of 39% to 29%. In this article, the author is attempting to show his audience that plagiarism is all around us and with information becoming easier to obtain through online search engines, Universities should crack down harder on this massively growing problem. The author is also stating that with the rise in plagiarism, that the students today are lacking the urge to be creative and create something original like that people from the 60’s they are copying off of to obtain a better grade. This common rant about how creativity is being lost to the Internet should be a message to all schools that plagiarism should under no circumstances be tolerated or allowed to slide. People today are losing their creative brain to the education system. If the students today stop applying them to the free write assignments given by their teachers, then the education system will have won. This article should be heard by all Universities and as well as all people who have or plan on plagiarizing because they should see that what they do is wrong and not only helping the education system help turn us into a assembly line of mindless freaks, but they are letting the population down because although it is easier to copy and paste, what you write could mean the difference in changing someone’s life or opinion on things.
PICTURE SUM UP
This quote doesnt just represent the view of a famous artist that helped change the world, but it represents how the world is changing and how the schools arent allowing creativity anymore. This image and quote represent how you can understand assignments and miss out on life, or you can experience life and create something beautiful and have it be frowned upon. This quote is telling us to frown upon the education system due to the fact that people now are losing sight of what life really is, and that is that life is not something assigned but lived and experienced.
POLITICAL COMMMERCIALS
When watching both political Commercials, I first noticed the music that was playing and how well it carried with the flow of what the candidate was saying. As the commercial progressed, I began to notice the colors and how the producer of the commercials put a fuzzy heart warming effect on so that the viewers would feel as though the candidate was inviting the viewer to join their party because they can trust them. When watching the commercials with an open mind to the political views being shown, I felt while watching Romney’s campaign commercial that the hazy effect made is words seem to flow nicer and you focused on him as a hard worker. From a politically intelligent man, I mainly focused on what each candidate had to say about the country and from a middle class American paying through college, I agreed and followed more with Obama due to his very professional outlook on how this country should be run instead of talking down the other candidate. While watching the commercials, I focused on how each candidate presented themself, and as a man you can tell a lot about a man by the way they hold themselves. Romney, although powerful in money, shows weakness and appears to be fragile. I respect him as a successful man, but I don’t believe in his ethics due to the fact that he paid less than I did in taxes and refuses to admit that he has left his fellow Americans behind because he wanted to make an extra dollar. The most important visual you could take from these commercials is how the candidate holds themselves upright and how they present themselves to the public. I believe that there are no unimportant items placed into these commercials because they have been so finely groomed, from pictures to speeches, the entire commercial has been fine tuned to appeal to the group of people that the candidate wants to have on their side.

POLITICAL SPEECHES
Viewing both the speeches I noticed that they both targeted certain crowds that their political party was attempting to gain to boost votes for their candidates. Anne Romney stated multiple times that Mitt Is a practicing Mormon. This statement stood out to me as a politician because it revealed in a noticeable way that Anne as a Republican is attempting to gain the approval of the “Bible Belt” by stating that her candidate that she is representing is wanting the approval of the religious people. From a politically serious point of view, I believe that Anne Romney’s speech was very unprofessional and made her seem immature and as if she is on the cheer squad for a local high school team. Her cheers and screeches of what seemed to be joy was unprofessional in the position she was in. I disapproved of the way she attempted to gain the support of the woman population. She acted like the girl that everyone hated in school and her stories of how she “raised” her kids had nothing to do with the matters that are effecting the woman all around America. In politics, everyone knows that the Democrats have gained the support from the woman for as long as politics has been around. From the unbiased view, I believe that Michelle was professional in her speech by not just addressing the crowd and telling them that there is always hope and that the economy is going to grow with the help of everyone as a whole country. Michelle addressed that the hard working men and woman of this nation are being stopped by the people they work for because of selfish reasons. I agree that if you work hard you’ll go far. It takes time but everyone knows that with a good education that you can strive to be anything you want to be. As a Democrat, I agree with Michelle because not only did she present her self in a respectable manner, but she also addressed the public as people that are educated and want to help the U.S. become the best it can be. She also talked to the people like a professional and unlike Anne treating the people like kids, Michelle brought up pressing matters that are flowing in the nation such as the economy and the policies surrounding it. I believe each speech had ups and downs here and there, but in the end the Democrats won the vote because Presentation is everything and how you address people will effect people in the end.
In chapter 3 of "Choices 2.0," The author provides advice for readers interested in finding ways to create Ethos in their writing. The author provides many methods to overcome this difficult task from citing credible resources, to asking professionals in the field being written about. Creating Ethos in ones writing is a difficult task, but nonetheless can be accomplished through extensive research that will lead you towards a credible resource. Reading deeply into the chapter, the author depicted multiple ways to help establish a writers credibility. One way the author suggested was to ask a person with a professional view about the subject at hand and quote him on his/her findings. This method stuck out to me by saying that not all knowledge is found in books, but in the minds of the ones who wrote them. Most credibility comes from the minds of the author themselves and to cite a book is nothing to having a professional explain in detail in person what they truly think on a matter. I agree with the authors claim on asking professionals and highly suggest to any writer that if you want to get facts straight, ask someone who studied a subject for their lifetime and they'll provide you with more info than any book could provide.
THE END OF FORGETTING
In Jeffrey Rosen's analysis in "The Web Means The End Of Forgetting," he exploits how from the beginning of the age of technology, not only the government, but the people who use the power of the internet are exploiting people for what they post on the walls of their common Facebook accounts. With the rise of social networking and the down fall of face to face communication, the age of modern man is beginning to establish false faces in order to either make it look good for future internships with major companies that check your account before hiring, or just for people with a passion to hurt others. This generation of technological advances has lead from bad to worse situations such as the situation involving Stacy Snyder and her post that would forever ruin her future career. As technology tightens its grasp on letting confrontation become a thing of the past, and strengthens its grasp on teaching the community to release how they feel through the internet, people run into problems such as cyber bullying and other inappropriate uses for the internet that lower ones esteem. the common age of man is degrading itself and leaving their blank bodies hosted to the brilliantly lighted screen of their computers. From a Psychological point of view on the subject, Evolution has taught us that the strongest survive and the most intelligent survive, but no one told us that intelligence is just a click away. People have misunderstood the concept of attaining knowledge and expect everything to be at their finger tips 24/7. Learning may be easier just by logging on, but sometimes the easiest path is the most difficult in the long run.
MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER
In watching this video about how gamers change the world, I believe that although she provided her audience with many statistics such as how from kindergarden to graduation of high school, kids will spend 10,000 hours playing on their game system and as well as how there's 3 billion hours of game play each year. The statistics are large and powerful, but I believe it doesn't quite appeal to the audience because she blended them in so abruptly that the audience had no time to comprehend the large quantities that people spend playing on their gaming systems. This speaker used many Ethos related ideas in her argument as she put the emotion a gamer has when on the verge of a "Epic Win" and attempted to place the audience in the position of a gamer who feels although the only life he can win is the one he has created in a game. Personally I agree with the fact that if these gamers left their video game lives behind them and applied the feeling they get from an "Epic Win" to the real world, I believe that the brilliance that is put forth in games truly could change the world and all the people with no imagination in it to strive and put forth their own abilities to achieve an "Epic Win" in life.
KENT HARUF
Kent Haruf in his literary analysis in "Writers on Writing" (11-20-2000), explores the creative ways that writers enter their creative zone and begin their masterpieces on paper. Kent depicted his findings through exploring how writers from John Cheever, to Maya Angelou open their minds by putting themselves either in the shoes of the character their writing about or just by putting themselves in social awkward positions due to the fact that it makes them feel comfortable and not restricted to the compounds of their earth bound bodies. Kent through his article tells how authors through their mysterious writing habits leave this world and lock themselves in their minds and find peace in their thoughts away from all the chaos that the world produces on a daily basis. Kent in this article was targeting an audience that is interested in how authors beat writers block and overcome the overwhelming ordeals that writers face when writing a book. He reveals this by telling the reader that he himself has a special writing area where he escapes the world and although its a strange area to be but it fulfills the task of escaping the world without going far from
CHAPTER 2
Joe Hardin in his literary analysis in "Choices 2.0" (2010) argues that writers today are believing they can write due to formulas that have been written up to form what are associated with stories. Joe startes his reasoning by listing titles of books that haven't succeeded on their journy through the audiences world. He progresses to state that real writing is studied multiple times until it is perfect and stories today are being found with multiple errors, as well taking ideas from other successful writers. Joe states that writers are being lazy and need to learn how to really read. Joe wants the readers to know that literature is a delicate process and not something that can be put into a formula. Writers need to put more creativity in their pieces and have their readers follow along in an enjoyable way and not in a jagged path to confusion.
